Music & Choir
Within any
Parish community there will be a group of musicians or singers whose task is
to provide music for the liturgy and to support the singing of the
congregation.
Music Ministry involves using song and music to
develop and deepen the liturgy. Worship can be enhanced through music.
The music ministry at English Martyrs’ consists of a small but willing group of musicians and singers. They help to lead the worship through music at the 11am mass in a “folk style” on a Sunday, & also at significant liturgical events throughout the Church year. The Music at the Sunday 11am Mass tries to combine traditional hymns with modern hymns more suited to the guitar. We have the wonderful resource of a pipe organ within the Church and this is used at Weddings, Funerals and occassional Masses. If you feel you can contribute in any way to the music ministry, then please get in touch! Singers of all “flavours” and musicians alike – whatever your ability – are welcome!
